Softball Coaching Staff


Lucy Manley

Hometown:  Hamilton, OH
Position:  Head Coach
Experience:  3rd Season

Record at MUH: 33-19
Alma Mater:  Miami University (B.S. ’06)/University of Hawaii (M.Ed. ’09)

Lucy Manley is enters her third season as the Head Women’s Softball Coach.  She led the 2012 & 2013 Harriers to ORCC League and Tournament Championships.  Her previous coaching experience includes Ross High School and various youth organizations in Hamilton.  She currently serves as the Softball Coordinator for the Reds Rookie Success League of Butler County.

After playing softball at Ross High School, Coach Manley continued her athletic career as the starting third baseman for Miami University Middletown. She helped lead the Thunderhawks to an ORCC Championship in the program’s inaugural season.

Coach Manley graduated from Miami University (B.S. ’06) and University of Hawaii (M.Ed. ’09) and currently works as the International Programs Specialist and Project Manager at the Howe Writing Center on the Miami University’s Oxford campus.  She also teaches courses in both the English and Kinesiology departments. 

Coach Manley currently resides in Lindenwald with her husband, Joshua, son, Maxwell, and their bullmastiff, Reuben.

Hometown:  Blanchester, OH

Position:  Assistant Coach

Experience: 2nd Season

Alma Mater: Little Miami High School

Carrie Ellis rejoins the Harrier's coaching staff this year as the Assistant Coach after a year hiatus.  Coach Ellis brings extensive coaching experience to the Harrier Softball Program.

As a stand-out catcher for Little Miami High School, Carrie received numerous awards and FAVC recognitions.  After multiple knee injuries sidelined Coach Ellis, she took her playing experience and expertise to the coaching ranks.  She has coached softball at Little Miami and Ross High Schools as well as Miami University Middletown.  Carrie also gives private catching lessons to high school players in the tri-state area.  Additionally, she spent three seasons as the assistant varsity basketball coach at Ross High School.


In addition to her responsibilities at Miami University Hamilton, Carrie works as the Operations Manager at the Dragonfly Foundation, which supports families and children battling cancer ( Additionally, she spends countless hours volunteering with terminally ill patients and their families.  She currently resides in Landen.



Dave Haubner

Hometown: Hamilton, OH
Position: Bench Coach
Experience: 3rd Season

Alma Mater: Bowling Green State University

Dave Haubner enters his third season on the Harriers' coaching staff as the Bench Coach.  Coach Haubner’s coaching experience ranges from youth to high school and he played baseball, basketball and softball. 

In addition to his responsibilities at Miami University Hamilton, Dave owns and operates a construction business.  Dave and his wife, Kara, reside in Ross and both continue to improve their golf swings.  They have three children and four grandchildren.
