The University Libraries are in the process of updating our streaming video reserve service<\/a> to better align with U.S. copyright law. We are no longer able to place library-owned DVDs on our streaming platform in most cases. This revised service model will apply to all courses on all campuses for the fall 2019 semester.<\/p>\n We\u2019ve created an FAQ page<\/a> to help you learn more about these changes and how streaming video requests are impacted by U.S. copyright law. Specific information about copyright law, including Fair Use Doctrine and using materials in online courses, is available on this guide<\/a>.<\/p>\n To request a streaming video for your course, fill out the Streaming Video Request Form<\/a>. If you have any questions about streaming videos, please visit our guide<\/a>.<\/p>\n For information about searching for digital versions of films, please visit our Streaming Video Services guide<\/a>.<\/p>\n Researchers can use the library catalog to determine audiovisual holdings in the University Libraries. In the catalog, you can sort your results by \u201cRelevance,\u201d \u201cDate Newest\u201d (Received), and \u201cOldest\u201d (Received). You can also look for videos in the resources listed on our Streaming Video Services guide<\/a>.<\/p>\n Most audiovisual materials from University Libraries can be put on reserve for a class for the semester. This allows the professor of that class to check out the video for any length of time. Others can also check out the video, but will have a checkout period that has been designated by the professor.
