Miami students, staff, and faculty should enter their Miami UniqueIDs and passwords (the same ones used to access mymiami) into the fields below. Community borrowers should note that the barcode field is simply the identification number located on the library card. After clicking “Log in,” you will be able to view your due dates and renew items by clicking on the “Currently Checked Out” link. You can check the status of your Hold Request by clicking on “Holds.” More detailed information about Renewals and Holds is below.

If you have questions about your account, you can fill out the online question form, or call the library at (513) 785-3235.

Renewals
Most Miami University Libraries’ books are eligible for unlimited renewals, while OhioLINK items may be renewed up to 6 times. However, if any item is requested by another user, you will not be able to renew it. Please double-check the due dates on all items after you submit your renewal request, just to make sure that the renewal was processed. Due to high demand, audiovisual materials are not able to be renewed.

Holds
Requests for available items from Miami University Libraries are usually delivered within 2 business days, while OhioLINK items can be expected within 3-5 working days. If you request an item that is currently checked out to another user, the amount of time it takes for you to receive it will depend on when that item is returned to the lending library. You can check your account to see the status of all your Hold requests. Below are the terms we use to help you keep track of the item in the system:

  • Available: The item has not yet left the lending library. It is not available for you yet.
  • In Transit: The item is on its way to Rentschler Library. It is not available for you yet, but should be soon.
  • OhioLINK RCVD: The library is at Hamilton’s Rentschler Library and is available for you to pickup. Please bring your valid Miami ID to the circulation counter.
